Privacy
This weblog is a static site with one exception: comments on Entries are stored on a small server I run myself. This page says what that means.
Comments
When you post a comment, the server stores:
- the display name you type, or your GitHub name if you sign in;
- your GitHub identity, if you use GitHub sign-in;
- your IP address, used only to rate-limit spam;
- the comment text, and the time you posted it.
Comments are stored on this server and are not sent to a third-party comment service. If you sign in with GitHub, GitHub sees that you authorised the sign-in, as it would for any site using GitHub login; nothing else about you is shared with them.
Comment policy: disagreement and criticism are welcome — that is the point of having comments. Comments are removed only for spam, abuse, or anything illegal, never for disagreeing with me. The first comment from a new name is held briefly for review; after that comments appear immediately.
You can ask me to remove a comment you posted, or anything else about your data here: write to hello@oslikas.com.
The rest of the site
The free tools under /free-tools/ run entirely in your browser and send
nothing anywhere. The weblog itself sets no cookies. If that ever changes — for
example if I add analytics — I will update this page first.
