Why a weblog
This is a demo entry — a medium-length one with no <!-- more --> marker,
so it renders in full on the front page and then gets cut off at the truncation
threshold. Wait — no. Without the marker, the front page shows the entire body,
whatever its length; the marker is the only truncation mechanism. That is the
point of this post: the author decides where the front-page summary ends, not
the theme.
Why a weblog at all? Because writing in public is the cheapest forcing function for thinking clearly. Posts here will be uneven and incomplete; that is fine. The archive is the product.
